September 25th Brown Bag Lunch "3 Big Ideas For Improving Profit?" Presented by Dan Morrow of Optest.

Dan Morrow from Optest will be speaking at our September 25th brown bag lunch. Dan's subject will be "3 Big Ideas For Improving Profit?"

Dan is currently the CEO/President of Op-Test. In this capacity, he oversees the design and manufacture of automated test equipment hardware and software for the semiconductor industry. He co-founded Op-Test in 2000 in response to the exploding need for device testing by semiconductor manufacturers and engineers.

Prior to founding Op-Test, Dan owned and was the senior consultant of Systec Solutions, an IT consulting business, from 1998 to 2000. From 1988 to 1998, Dan acted as Director of Engineering at Pacific Western Systems, Inc.

Dan’s professional academic experience includes serving as the Computer Electronics Department Chair as a tenured staff member at Shasta Tehama Trinity Joint Community College in Redding, California. He also served at Shasta as the Telecommunications Technology Coordinator. In this post, he partnered with the Dean of Telecommunications on a $1.5 million grant funded project to design and implement video conference/interactive classrooms. He directed the building of three facilities, the remodeling of two classrooms, and he set-up a WAN to support video conferencing. As a result of his efforts, Shasta became the first community college in California to offer interactive video conferencing based classes.

Dan has over 25 years of experience with systems design, computer engineering (both hardware and software), image and voice recognition, and parametric and functional test design. His technical expertise includes project/engineering management, technical sales, and general management.

Dan received his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering, as well as his Master of Science in Engineering, at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California.

At Noon on the fourth Friday of every month we host a "Brown Bag" meeting at the Civic Center (City Hall at 777 Cypress Ave). The name of the meeting room is the "Caldwell Park Room" on the second floor http://www.ci.redding.ca.us/civcenter. The Shasta Technology Association, will provide a lunch of Pizza and refreshments to the first 20 attendees. Plan to show up early! the meetings will start at noon promptly.
